PRECISION MEASURING TOOLS

PRECISION VICE

A precision vice is a tool designed for accurately and securely clamping small to medium-sized workpieces for tasks like measuring, machining, and inspection. They are characterized by extremely high parallelism and perpendicularity, with features like hardened steel jaws that often include V-grooves for clamping cylindrical parts. Precision vises are used in a variety of applications, from microscopes and profiling projectors to milling and grinding machines.
Key features
  • High precision: Designed for exceptional accuracy, often with parallelism and perpendicularity specifications to within 0.020mm to 0.04mm.
  • Durable construction: Typically made from materials like anodized aluminum, hard chrome-plated brass, or high-grade cast iron for rigidity and long service life.
  • Specialized jaws: Jaws are often hardened and ground steel, with many models featuring V-grooves to hold cylindrical objects securely and accurately. Some may also include plastic jaw plates for protecting delicate surfaces.
  • Versatile mounting: Can be mounted on various machine tool systems, such as coordinate measuring machines, microscopes, and milling machines, using adapter plates or clamping slots.
  • Secure clamping: Incorporate features like a non-lifting movable jaw design and a pull-down system to ensure workpieces are held rigidly without distortion.
  • Protected mechanics: Many models have a fully covered lead screw to protect it from dirt and chips, increasing durability.
